In the Balule Private Nature Reserve we offer Big 5 game drives and smaller sunrise or sunset drives as well as bush walks Our fully guided Kruger National Park safari is an unique experience.There is a lot to explore in this area and we gladly assist you with your planning, hoping to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Off course you can also just relax and chill out on our terrace or at the swimming pool or enjoy the day spa in Hoedspruit!
GAME ACTIVITYOn our 3 hour drives the expert guides will take you into the bush in our open safari vehicle and explain all the fascinating things you will see on the way. Up close to the animals for an unforgettable safari experience. It is an unique, adventure that offers you detailed insight into the complex and fascinating eco-system of the South African bush. Enjoy the fresh morning air with a cup of coffee in the middle of the bush or watch the sun go down with a cold drink and some snacks.
BUSH WALKGreet the new day in the bush and explore the fascinating African nature by foot, accompanied by a qualified and armed guide. On the walk you will learn about tracks, plants, trees and birds and much more. Although you can encounter big game during your walk, the emphasis lies on the smaller things in the bush that often get overlooked during a drive.
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK SAFARIThe world renowned Kruger Park, with it's abundance of animals is a must to visit. The park stretches from the Small Drakensberg till Mozambique, making it one of the biggest game reserves in the world with a wide variety of animals. Located between the Orpen and Phalaborwa entrance gates, Ku Sungula is ideally situated for day trips into the park. Explore this vast nature area on a full day guided safari.
Discover the beauty of of the scenic panorama route with it's magnificent views and waterfalls. From our lodge you can do a day trip to explore this route through the Klein Drakensberg mountains. See God's window, the Three rondawels, Bourkes luck potholes, Mac Mac Falls and much more.
MARIEPSKOP AND BLYDE RIVER PICK-NICK SPOTDiscover the places where most tourists don't come. We can take you on a trip to the Mariepskop, With a height of 1944 metres above sea-level the highest mountain in the area. The Mariepskop can only be reached in a 4x 4 vehicle. After this stunning view we know a secluded pick-nick spot at the Blyde river where we can spend a wonderful day with a nice lunch and swimming in the river.
HORSE BACK SAFARI
We leave the stables and ride into the wildlife estate for an unique safari. On the horses we explore the small winding paths in the tranquillity of the surrounding bush. The impalas and warthogs won't even notice you and continue their normal activities.
Jessica is a tame hippo that you can pet and is world famous by now. Born in 2000 during the floods in Kruger park little Jessica lost her mother and got found by Toine & Shirley Joubert. As ranger Toine had experience in caring for wild animals and saved the little hippo who is still living in the river behind his house.
Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre for animals
A home for many abandoned, poisoned and injured animals from this area. This centre contributes to educating the local people about wildlife and the necessity of conservation. Where possible the animals are released again. The ones that have to stay are ambassadors for conservation as many visitors to this centre have experienced.
This Reptile park is worth the while! Experienced guides will show you around and tell fascinating stories and facts about the animals you see. The centre combines education and research with nature conservation specific for reptiles and amphibians.
Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre
The centre is proof that humans can make a difference to the long term survival of endangered species. HESC started out with Cheetah breeding and conservation and this is still the main purpose of the centre but now also take care of other endangered and vulnerable species like the Southern ground hornbill.
In the local town of Acornhoek you meet our guide who will take you on a tour through the town. You visit a market, a school and get a glimpse of how the local people live. She lives there and knows the people and will give you insight in their culture.
