Check-in is possible from 12:00 noon. If you arrive on time, you can often join us for lunch at 2:00 PM, which is included in your stay.

Regular game drives are suitable for children from the age of 8. If you are travelling with younger children, you can book a babysitter at the lodge.

A day at Ku Sungula follows the rhythm of the bush. Early mornings, time in nature and plenty of space in between to relax. The exact schedule may differ per season, but this gives you a general idea:

From Hoedspruit Airport, it is about a 40-minute drive to Ku Sungula.
If you are driving to the lodge yourself, first navigate to Olifants West Gate. At the gate, you pay the current park entrance fee. The gate staff will then give you directions to the lodge. Please ignore Google Maps and follow these instructions carefully. If you’re not travelling with your own rental car, you can also book a transfer from Hoedspruit Airport or Johannesburg Airport.

Your reservation is provisional until the deposit has been received. We ask for a 30% deposit within 10 days of booking to confirm your stay. The remaining amount must be paid no later than 90 days before arrival.
Payment methods
You can pay by Mastercard, Visa or bank transfer in euros or South African rand. A 2.5% surcharge applies to credit card payments. For international bank transfers, bank charges are at your own expense.
Cancellation
● 70% refund for cancellations more than 4 weeks before arrival
● 50% refund for cancellations between 2 and 4 weeks before arrival
● 0% refund for cancellations within 2 weeks before arrival

With a few simple tips, you can get even more out of your safari:
● Don’t forget your binoculars, there is so much to see along the way!
● Wear closed shoes during game drives.
● Choose calm, neutral-coloured clothing.
● Bring a good insect repellent, preferably one with DEET.
● Check in advance with your doctor or travel clinic which vaccinations or malaria medication may be needed.
● Also check whether you need a visa before travelling to South Africa.
And good to know: you do not need to bring too many clothes. For a small fee, you can use our laundry service.
